DC Wants David Ayer for Suicide Squad?

Variety is reporting that DC is looking at “Fury” director David Ayer to direct a Suicide Squad movie. A team comprised of villains in the DC Universe that are sent out on missions against their will and if they get out of control a bomb implanted inside them will go off. The Suicide Squad is directed by Amanda Waller and the team is usually comprised of characters such as Deadshot, Harley Quinn and King Shark.
Variety’s sources tell them that David Ayer is DC/WB’s #1 choice as director for this film. There is no word on where they are on negotiations.
David Ayer would be a great choice for a dark team like the Suicide Squad. Ayer also wrote “Training Day” and “End of Watch”.
