Here is my review of San Andreas. I know there is already one on the site but, I am FROM San Francisco and have a different view. The other review had a low taste it. But because I used to live there, I have a different perspective.

This movie has you white knuckled from the very beginning!

The “Rock” Dwayne Johnson is awesome. Dwayne is very believable in this role as a Coast Guard helicopter rescue man. The supporting cast is also just as entertaining!

The sub plot of losing their daughter to a drowning incident while rafting made their marriage break apart. This marriage is repaired almost instantly and organically. The new boyfriend of their surviving daughter, because of the issues at hand made him a hero. This guy was going in for an interview with someone who was 3 levels below her step dad to be. But yet, he proved to be such a great guy willing to give his life for her and others was soooooo commending! The stepdad was a total shitbird! He died of course, cool!

My being from San Francisco, makes me an authority on the authenticity of the events and reactions of the characters. Every action taken by the parents were very realistic and the actions and decisions taken by the dad, “The Rock” was realistically made. When I was in the NJROTC in High School. We thought of battle contingencies in case of invasion possibilities. Stuff like blowing up both ends of the Golden Gate Bridge and so on. We made many other plans in case of invasion.

While me and my wife watched this movie, as we reacted to every situation, we were mimicked in the movie.  Such an awesome disaster film, not done by Roland Emmerick and Dean Devlin, was a masterful realistic film about the true possible disaster that faces San Francisco and all of California. Wow, that is all I have to say. The streets and decisions made in relation to the geography of the City were very realistic. Not only that, every move they made was realistic to the true street and area relation! Knowing every street in San Francisco, I realized that every move they made was logical to someone who lived there. I totally recommend this movie to anyone who is a disaster movie nut.
