Run All Night is the typical old man with a gun action movie that Liam Neeson is frequently apart of.  It’s not that all of these movies are bad it’s that they are all the same. But then again all the John Wayne movies were pretty much the same and those are pretty awesome.

So if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Right?

In this case yes. Run All Night stars Liam Neeson as Jimmy the old man with a gun, Ed Harris as Shawn an old Irish mob boss, and Joel Kinnaman as Mike Jimmy’s son. It focuses on Jimmy and Mike’s broken relationship as they are forced to work together to survive the wrath of Shawn and his thirst for revenge after Jimmy shoots his son to save Mike.
It is evident that Liam Neeson has a blast making these movies. The movie is sprinkled throughout with bad jokes and snarky one liners that I wouldn’t be surprised if they were improvised by Liam Neeson himself.  After all I’m pretty sure they let him say whatever he wants.

I was never bored during this movie and I’ll be a little disappointed if Liam Neeson doesn’t do more action movies like this. I’ll look forward to seeing two or so of these a year until he’s so old he can’t do it anymore.
