Welcome to Episode 340 of Pop Culture Leftovers. In this episode I’m joined by Paul Hart from Movies from the Hart and The Animated Batcast. We are also joined by longtime listener and past guest June.

For Good Pop Bad Pop in Television we discuss Warrior Nun on Netflix based on the comic books series where after waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo Bearer for a secret sect of demon-hunting nuns. We all discuss the new true crime series on HBO that was a passion of Michelle McNamara in I’ll Be Gone In The Dark that is an examination of the unsolved crimes of the Golden State Killer who terrorized California in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Josh Gad dropped the new Reunited Apart: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and we’ve all seen it. We’ve watched Netflix’s reboot of Unsolved Mysteries which is Robert Stack-less. Is it a worthy successor? Brian talks about another Netflix series Ju-On: Origins which is a prequel to the Japanese movie series Ju-On, better known here as The Grudge. And he also talks about the new animated series Super HxEros on Funimation.

In Movies June and Paul discuss Hamilton out now on Disney+. We all have thoughts on the new comedy Desperados starring Nasim Pedrad and Lamorne Morris on Netflix. Brian and Paul talk about the new Shudder Original Film Metamorphosis where an evil spirit that changes faces infiltrates one family placing one brother in danger while the other tries to save him. Brian also talks about Making Apes: The Artists Who Changed Film. The story of the makeup artists behind one of the most ground-breaking and beloved science fiction franchise of all time, Planet of the Apes.

In News Mackenzie Davis has an opinion on moving forward with the Terminator franchise. Seth Rogen is producing a new TMNT animated movie. Sylvester Stallone is teasing a Rocky IV directors cut. And did the original NBA Jam programmer rig the game to screw over the Chicago Bulls?

In Marvel News we might get more episodes of WandaVision then we thought. And it looks like J.K. Simmons has filmed some additional scenes as J. Jonah Jameson.

And in DC News we talk about that Zatanna movie rumor as well as Henry Cavill’s most recent statements regarding his still possible return as Superman.
