Welcome to Episode 287. In this Episode Leftover Brian is joined by Rebekah Dahling from the Number One Comic Books podcast as well as special guest Jacob Harman everyone’s favorite Dungeon Master from Brute Force & Ignorance A Dungeons & Dragons Podcast.
In this episode we have a ton to talk about in Good Pop Bad Pop. This week Brian is talking about Shadow ☯ from director Zhang Yimou (HERO, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS) and if this Chinese film is as amazing as his previous work. We all discuss some new Netflix shows that hit the streaming service starting with the 5th Season of Black Mirror, The Chef Show starring Jon Favreau and Roy Choi and When They See Us a 4 part mini-series directed by Ava DuVernay. Jacob talks about the anime that everyone seems to be talking about The Seven Deadly Sins. We talk about a couple of trailers that dropped this week. The first is Ford V Ferrari starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale where American car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966. The second is for a new original show hitting the Apple TV+ service For All Mankind starring Joel Kinnaman that explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. Rebekah and Brian discuss the new Viceland fish out of water non-scripted comedy Jasper and Errol’s First Time. And we all discuss the first episode of EPIX’s new show Perpetual Grace, LTD from Steve Conrad starring Ben Kingsley, Jacki Weaver, Luis Guzmán and Jimmi Simpson.
In News we talk about some cancellations and what you can do to help. Example: #SAVEDEADLYCLASS #SAVEHAPPY #SAVESWAMPTHING I know, I know. We can’t save ’em all but it doesn’t hurt to try. We talk about details from Showtime’s Halo series, a Punky Brewster revival show and Warner Media streaming service pricing and offerings.
In Marvel News we briefly, and I mean briefly talk Dark Phoenix. But if you do wanna hear our thoughts and ratings they are there. We also talk about some rumors for the upcoming Marvel Phase 4 including a rumor about The Fantastic Four and details on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Oh, and I might’ve learned a spoiler from Spider-Man: Far From Home.
