“The world is in the grips of an economic crisis. Due to mass unemployment, advanced technology has been outlawed. The world is now divided between those with implanted technology and those without. When the world’s most famous anti-tech crusader dies and is resurrected using the illegal technology he has sworn to eliminate, he must decide who to fight with his terrifying new powers. Here’s the extremely long Spider-Man: Far From Home theory from Warren:
Loved this week’s show. Love talking about this stuff. Man, I’d love to come on the show (kidding, kinda—). Listened to this week’s show and it got me thinking. I am sure you get plenty of these but I don’t have anyone else to talk to about it!!! Figured this could create some conversation. I am in the boat where Endgame will have end the OG Avengers run but definitely somehow set up the new ones. I’m kinda done with trying to guess about that movie- it’s going to be nuts. But I do have a FFH theory that will be a prequel to IW- thus setting up future Marvel Movies to have a setting wherever they want without the legacy of the Avengers hanging over them.
My theory: FFH picks up at the end of Homecoming (Endgame will have converted a universe somehow- that’s another discussion/theory that is just too complex).  May is convinced that Peter is a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Happy helps convince her that he isn’t part of Avengers and that Peter turned down the offer (Tony isn’t around anymore bc he is off with Pepper- ending the flirtation Tony was having with May in HC). Peter goes on a trip. I have a couole of theories of the mysterio/fury connection:
1: Fury is going to use Mysterio as a test to test Spider-Man’s ability, worthiness, etc. (in classic fury testing- a la avengers 1). Mysterio will have been set up with Chitari technology by Fury. Mysterio will end up letting that power go to his head and want to prove he is actually stronger than fury’s eventual leader of the avengers- Spider-Man. (I believe this is actually the case). I think you will see Fury hint to Maria Hill about needing a future leader (ohhhhh Endgame!!!)
2: mysterio, as y’all hinted, tricks Fury and Peter saves the day- thus earning Fury’s trust
I have a feeling Fury is going to know what is going to happen to the avengers and the dusting and what not in FFH (that’ll be the post credit scene in Captain Marvel)- and he cannot change anything because to save the universe, then the decimation has to happen. I think the (or one of the) post credit scenes in FFH will hint at Peter getting on a bus…
I think this is set up after Homecoming because May seems too cool with Peter going on this trip (you mentioned this in this week’s episode). But she won’t know about the decimation because it hasn’t happened yet (which endgame may make it where it doesn’t happen at all- but no one knows that in this film, except for fury).
I believe the Stark building in the background of the trailer is being customized for Oscorp. No way Disney makes a movie without the rights- too risky.
The purpose of having this film be right after Homecoming is to set Peter/Spider-Man up as his own hero that has the ability to save the day, think for himself, be his own hero without the help of Tony or the Avengers.
The new suits are given to Peter by Fury; but I think Stark (who will not be in the film but will also know the coming of the decimation) will have made these new suits for Fury to pass on- Tony will be retired but is going to absolutely not get involved anymore- part of the reason why I think Fury has created a test for Peter.
Sorry for the long email, but you guys seem like fans of all of this and I would love to shoot the breeze with ya! If ya see any holes in this- let’s talk it out!!!!
