Episode 198: Disney Leaving Netflix, Star Wars The Last Jedi Coverage, Detroit

This episode is horrendous.  Not our best.  Sometimes I say this and people think it’s cute and I’m being playful but I’m being 100% serious.  I mean it this time.  I would just skip this one altogether.  And I don’t need you to tell me “Yeah, you’re right.  This episode was not your best”.  Trust me.  I know.  That’s why I’m inserting this disclaimer.  Do yourself a favor and listen to a better podcast this week.  Examples include: Comic Slobs, Nerd Porn, The Animated Batcast, The Supercast, Starkcast (more on that in a moment), Scene-It Cast, The Super Boob Tube Dudes, The Joe Schmo Comic Show, The Comic Cast… hell, just type in any random word in the iTunes podcast app and listen to whatever pops up.  You’ll be better off.  Trust me, your expectations on this episode should be very low.  Oh well, we’re helping you recover from this craptastic episode by taking next week off.

Anyway, this week we’re joined by 2 guests: Joe Stark from Starkcast podcast and first time guest Ben Ryan.  In Good Pop Bad Pop Brian talks about his experience with the anime My Hero Academia, the film Detroit, Welcome to Tate’s on YouTube from Going Nowhere Show and the Anne Hathaway film Colossal. Speaking of Colossal, this show is a colossal piece of crap.  Anyway, Jake talks about the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on digital’s extra features.  Joe Stark gives us some comic book recommendations and Ben talks about a television show Friday Night Dinner.

Then Brian and Jake take the Disney leaving Netflix discussion to a whole other level where things get a little tense while Joe and Ben take a backseat and just let us bare knuckle box each other over a mind numbing conversation.  Then in Star Wars news we go over all of the Entertainment Weekly reports that came out this past week.  Who’s Rey’s family?  What’s the deal with Captain Phasma in The Last Jedi?  Who is Benecio Del Toro playing?  Why did we put out such a subpar episode this week?

Not gonna sugar coat this one.  It’s pretty awful.  You’re gonna be happy we’re taking a week off after this one.  This is definitely in the top 5 for worst podcast episodes EVER recorded in history.  Not just for PCL but for podcasts in general.  I’m ashamed to even publish it.  Have we officially jumped the shark?  That’s putting it nicely.  Anyway, remember to listen to Starkcast on iTunes for great free form conversations with Joe Stark and a variety of guests.  Now that’s a good podcast.  Actually, delete this episode and download his entire catalog of episodes.  Unsubscribe to PCL and never look back.
